Words are used according to their uses and functions. They are called Parts of Speech.
Let's see the different uses in different ways :-
1. She 'Waters ' her garden in the evenings.
2. I saw a 'Water' bird in the sea.
3. We drink 'Water' after food.
Now see in the first line Water has been used as Verb where as in the second line the same word has been used as Adjective and in the third line the word Water has been used as Noun.
Let's see another example :-
1. He is my 'Fast' friend.
2. He is on 'Fast' to day.
3. We 'Fast' during Ramzaan.
Here also we see that the word 'Fast' has been use in different ways.
There are eight kinds of Parts of Speech. They are :-
1. Noun
2. Pronoun
3. Adjective
4. Verb
5. Adverb
6. Preposition
7. Conjunction
8. Interjection
